Four Mumbai-based men of Iranian-origin, who used to target the elderly in the NCR, were arrested in south Delhi, police said on Saturday. Sartaj Sheikh, the gang's leader, and his associates Ghulam Hussain, Yunus Sabur Jafar and Sheru Mamu, were involved in at least 11 cases of cheating and looting elderly women by posing as cops.

"They used to ask the elderly to take off their jewellery and put it in a polythene bag and by sleight of hand change it before walking off," said PK Kushwah, additional DCP (south).

"On a specific input Sheikh, along with his associates was arrested from the Malviya Nagar Metro station," he said.
