A couple, in their mid-30s, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a park in New Friends Colony area of southeast Delhi on Saturday morning, police said.
The couple has not been identified yet. Police have recovered two SIM cards near the bodies and were analysing it to ascertain their identities.
While the man's body had strangulation marks, the woman was frothing at the mouth.
Some children, who were playing cricket nearby, noticed the bodies when their ball bounced into the park.
The bodies had been covered with a thick layer of grass.
The children informed their uncle who called up the police control room (PCR).
The incident was reported around 7.30 a.m. on Saturday. The bodies were found at the B-Block park in New Friends Colony.
The couple are in the age group of 30-35 years. Police said while there were some bruises on the man's body, the woman's body had been tied with a piece of cloth.
"We are yet to identify the bodies. The two SIM cards recovered near the bodies are being analysed to establish their identity. We are questioning the locals in the area," said Virendra Singh Chail, additional commissioner of police (southeast district).
The officer added that it was too early to say whether the couple committed had suicide or some one had dumped their bodies in the park after killing them. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
In another incident, a man, again in his mid-30s was found murdered under the Ashram flyover on Ring Road on Saturday morning.
The police recovered the body at 7 a.m.; there was an injury on the head. Officials said that the person is yet to be identified.
