Aayushi Singhal and Kamelia Majumdar of Holy Child School, Ghaziabad, topped NCR in CISCE’s Class 10 and 12 board exams respectively.
Singhal secured 96.8 percent, Majumdar a whopping 98 per cent.
While Singhal attributed the success to her PCM (physics, chemistry and mathematics) coaching teacher, Majumdar said it was her family that “poked” her into study hard throughout the year.
The daughter of a canteen contractor, Singhal studied between 3-4 hours a day. “I took help of my coaching teacher who guided me well. I have no future plans yet. I’d like to opt for the science stream," she said.
“I am pretty happy for my daughter and will urge her to get more marks in her next board examinations,” said Sanjay Singhal, Aayushi's father.
Kamelia, on the other hand, said she devoted around eight-nine hours each day to her studies.
“I would like to pursue Statistic after Class 12. I would not like to prefer engineering courses. Physics, chemistry and Maths are my choice of subjects,” she told HT.
Kamelia scored 100 in Maths and 99 in environmental sciences.
“It is a happy moment for the family. We will allow her to pursue the subjects of her choice and preference," said Kajal Majumdar, her father.
