Member of Parliament Dr Karan Singh believes that the recent surge in crimes across the country is a result of negligence towards our own culture and civilization.
Speaking at the Art and Culture Conservation Summit on International youth Day (August 12), Dr Singh said, “Indian civilization has the potential to nurture good human values in us.” He further said that media should encourage folk culture and showcase programmes on folk art and culture to imbibe our culture in the youth of today.
The MP further said that harmful practices such as in-touchability and Sati should be condemned but we should not out-rightly ignore our culture for few bad practices.
The summit was organized by Art and Culture Development Agency of India. President of ACDAI Rajneesh Pushkar said country-wide agenda should be made for promotion and conservation of our Indian culture.
