A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in northwest Delhi's Kanjhawala area on Friday. The accused is untraceable.
Police said the incident was reported on Friday evening when the victim, a student of class eight at a local government school, was returning home from the neighbourhood.
"The victim had gone to meet one of her friends, who stays near her residence when, according to her complaint, the accused waylaid her," said a senior police officer.
According to police, the victim claimed that her neighbour then forced her into his house where he raped her.
The victim told her parents about the assault, who took her to the local police station.
"We then took her to the Sanjay Gandhi hospital where a medical examination of the victim confirmed sexual assault. A case of rape was registered against the accused at the Kanjhawala Police Station and we are in the process of tracing the accused," the officer said.
