Nineteen CBI officials get police medals on Republic Day

Nineteen CBI officials have been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Services and Police Medal for Meritorious Services on the occasion of Republic Day on Tuesday.

Among the winners of the President's Medal is Alok Kumar Pateria, Joint Director (Policy) who earlier as JD (North) had handled sensitive cases like the disproportionate assets case against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and the Provident Fund scam at Ghaziabad court.

Also in the awardees tally is Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, DIG (Anti-Corruption Bureau) who handled the infamous Moga sex scandal case. IPS officers Neeraja Gotru, currently DIG (MDMA) and Anurag, DIG (STF) have also been awarded.

While the President's Medal for Distinguished Services has been awarded to four officials, Police Medals have been given to 15 other officials.
