Hindustan Times was always Delhi’s most favourite newspaper and figures again confirm that. HT has retained its No. 1 position among all English dailies in both daily readership and total readership (TR), not just in Delhi but the NCR as well.

In Delhi NCR, Hindustan Times has a TR of 31.76 lakh readers and an Average Issue Readership (AIR) of 21.63 lakh readers ahead of the Times of India (TR 30.84 lakh and AIR 21.48 lakh) TR is the reach of a newspaper and AIR is the daily readership. These numbers are from the latest quarter’s results of IRS (2010 Q2) released by Media Research Users Council.

In Delhi, the daily readerhsip (AIR) lead over the Times of India has been further strengthened to 76,000. HT also has the highest number — 13.44 lakh readers — of exclusive readers.

In Mumbai, HT continues to be the fastest growing English daily among major English dailies, and has reached an AIR of 5.63 lakh. Since its launch, this is the 7th time in the last 8 rounds that HT has registered a growth in Mumbai.

In Mumbai, HT has also emerged as the fastest growing among the youth (12-29 years) and among the top-end readers (SEC A).
