"No one here has a clue about the missing victims. We tried searching her in the list of the dead and the injured but to no avail," said Hiren Haldar who had come from Ghaziabad searching for his seven-year-old relative, whose parents are admitted in the hospital
and have no clue where their daughter is.
Vikram Haldar does not know whether to mourn the death of his brother or to look for his sister Rita who was still missing.
"I have been to four hospitals but have not managed to locate her yet. My brother died but my father survived and is admitted in the hospital," said Vikram.
More than 24 hours after the building collapsed, the rescue operations are still on at the accident site.
None of the residents living on the ground floor has been traced yet.
Biswajit Ghosh, a salesperson has no clue where his wife and two children are. His wife, son and daughter are feared to have been buried alive under the rubble.
But Ghosh, a native of West Bengal, kept his personal loss aside and joined the rescue operations.
"The entire building collapsed within seconds as if it was made of sand. I tried to search for my wife and children but to no avail. With every rescue, I hoped it was family member but I am yet to see them," said Ghosh.
