Hundreds of residents under the banner of Manav Sewa Samiti and other social organisations on Monday took ‘No bribe’ oath at a ceremony held at Priyadarshini Park and extended support to Anna Hazare’s Jan Lokpal bill.
“We take oath that we will not give or take bribe and help in rooting out corruption from the society,” said Neelam Gupta, resident of Sector 12.
“Men, women and children assembled in large numbers to take oath,” said UK Bhardwaj of Manav Sewa Samiti.
Around 100 karate learners led by their coach Bhupinder Singh marched to Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Monday to be a part of Anna’s campaign against corruption.
“We want to contribute our share in the revolution,” said coach Bhupinder Singh.
Member of Parliament from Gautam Budha Nagar, Surinder Singh Nagar, has also extended support to Anna’s movement by sending volunteers to strengthen the protest.
At Sarafabad, village residents performed ‘havan’ ceremony. “This was done so that UPA government should get wisdom and accept the Jan Lokpal bill. Now, the government will not be able to stop the movement as people have been awakened by Anna Hazare,” said Sukhbir Pehalwan.
Meanwhile, at Dadri residents burnt the copies of Hindi newspaper for projecting government Lokpal bill and writing against the Jan Lokpal bill of Anna.
”We will not tolerate any views against Anna or his Jan Lokpal bill,” said Vikas Bhardwaj, one of the protesters.
