To curb the menace of stray dogs in north and central Delhi, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation is planning to have dog ambulances wherein dog sterilisation will be carried out on the spot.
"The cases of dog bites are on a rise and the only way out is to carry out sterilisation. To begin with, we want that five dog ambulances should be started to ensure sterilisation takes place at a faster speed. We have asked the commissioner to create a detailed proposal," said Sanjeev Nayyar, chairman of Medical Relief and Public Health Committee.
The issue of dog bite cases was raised in the House meeting on Monday wherein councillors claimed that there has been a significant increase in the number of cases.
