Northern Railway swung into action by making special arrangements at the Delhi airport — a computerised rail ticket reservation counter.
With a large number of passengers stranded at the airport due to cancelled flights, many were sent to their destinations by trains on Wednesday.
A special counter was set up to assist passengers in getting seats in trains. The counter will operate round the clock and will be monitored by an Assistant Commercial Manager.
In order to clear extra rush, the following Special trains are also being run for passenger convenience.
The 2951A/2952A Mumbai Central-New Delhi Rajdhani Special train will run twice from Mumbai Central on Wednesday (26.5.10) and Saturday (29.5.2010), and its return service from New Delhi on Thursday (27.5.2010) and Sunday (30.5.2010).
