A 46-year-old married NRI woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the fourteenth floor of a residential apartment at Kaushambi in Ghaziabad on Sunday— the second such incident in the area in the past couple of days.
Police officials said Sunita Gupta, a non-resident Indian and wife of a senior official of a US aviation company, jumped off the fourteenth floor of Malaygiri Apartments.
"She had come around 20 days back from the United States to visit her ailing 70-year-old mother and a brother. She has been divorced earlier and had married the second time. She was probably under some sort of depression that forced her to take the step," circle officer Kamlesh Bahadur said.
No suicide note was recovered and the police said that they were investigating the incident.
Four people have committed suicide in Indirpauram and Kaushambi areas of Ghaziabad in less than a week.
