Nursery admission process will begin in the capital from today and will continue till March 31 next year.
To bring uniformity in schedules for nursery admissions, the city government has instructed schools to sell forms between December 15 and January 15.
The schools cannot take any interview of children or parents as Delhi High Court has banned such practices.
As per the schedule, the schools will scrutinise the application forms till January 30 and bring out the first list of successful candidates. All formalities will have to be completed by March 31.
Parents appeared upbeat about common dates for nursery admission this year.
"Earlier, we had to remember so many dates as all the schools had different schedules. At least this year, we will be saved," says Kapil Malhotra an executive.
"The results will come on one date. We will know whether we have secured admission for our child or not and be saved from depositing multiple fees," he said.
However, homemaker Hema Singh, who plans to get her daughter admitted to nursery is worried over the rush she will have to face.
"The common dates will make the nursery admissions a rushed affair and quite chaotic as every one will visit the schools to collect forms within specified dates," she said.
