A 50-year-old man was burnt to death and at least 150 shanties were gutted when a fire broke out in a slum area of southwest Delhi on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
According to Delhi Fire Service officials, the fire was reported from the slums in Shahbad Dairy area around 3.10 pm.
"We rushed 12 fire-fighting engines that took complete control over the fire around 4.30 pm," said an official.
"At least 150 shanties were gutted and a man identified as Narsu was killed. Police are ascertaining the cause of the fire," the official added.
