‘Pakistan’ group hacks IIT Delhi, DU websites, posts about Kashmir violence

‘Pakistan Haxors CREW – PHC’ hacks DU, IIT-Delhi, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and IIT-BHU websites, posts message on alleged brutalities by Indian Army and the police in Kashmir.

The websites of Delhi University and IIT Delhi were hacked allegedly by a Pakistani hackers group on Tuesday afternoon. The hackers smeared the websites with posters of the alleged the “brutalities” by the ‘Indian forces’ in Kashmir.

‘Pakistan Haxors CREW – PHC’, the group which claimed responsibility for hacking into the two websites, posted a screenshot on their Facebook page, claiming they had hacked several websites, including those of Aligarh Muslim University and IIT-BHU in Varanasi.

Though the Delhi Police and officials of the two institutions said they were unaware of the websites being hacked, many users said they came across “Pakistani propaganda” material when they tried accessing the websites.

Those using Android phones continued experiencing a hacked IIT-Delhi website till 6 pm on Tuesday. The AMU website was hacked across platforms. The Delhi University website, however, returned to normal within a matter of minutes, said users.

The poster by hackers’ group posted on top of the IIT Delhi website’s main page read: “Greetings Government of India and the people of India.” It talked about alleged “killing and rape of Kashmiri people by the Indian soldiers”.

“Take your murderers and rapists back home,” the post said. The hackers also shared two videos of alleged police brutality in Kashmir.

“Just here to deliver my message to the government and the people of India...Security Is Just An Illusion. Pakistan Zindabad,” the post read.
