Designs that aim to reinterpret the traditional yet syncretic beliefs, practices and attitudes that revolve around gender and spirituality in India is something that one would want to explore today given the new challenges. Graphic designer Divya Thakur presents a new series of works that builds a visual narrative through artefacts and includes objects of every day usage in a thoughtful and powerful manner.

Deep draws
Real reams of an artists' works are often interpreted in many forms. Line drawings is one such form. Pure Concept, a group show of drawings by Akbar Padamsee, Arpana Caur, Bratin Khan, FN Souza, Jai Zharotia, Krishen Khanna, Manu Parekh, Samir Mondal, Sanjay Bhattacharya, Satish Gupta, Shuvaprasanna brings together the extraordinary skill of the art. 11am-7pm, January 15-24, Triveni Kala Sangam.

If you are interested in landscapes then this exhibition that aims to re-examine the age-old genre of landscape painting as it exists within a contemporary context may fascinate you. The exhibition brings together upcoming and known contemporary artists from across India and abroad. The various works look at ways to unearth and understand the embedded symbolism found in contemporary landscape paintings. So from a maze of landscape paintings to the ones with a deeper, significant symbolism contained within the artwork, for a lover for a lover of art there is much to be discovered and deciphered in the paintings.
