Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar was reportedly furious with her husband for allegedly sharing the details of her first husband with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar, a few days before her murder.

In his recorded statement, Tharoor’s domestic help Narayan Singh said that on January 15, 2014, when Sunanda was unwell, Tharoor left without saying anything, which agitated her.

“Madam gusse se boli ki sahib ko chhodungi nahi, unhone Mehr ko mere pichle pati ke bare mein sab bata diya hai (Madam angrily said, I will not spare him, he told
Mehr everything about my ex-husband),” says the statement.

After this, Sunanda left for The Leela hotel with Sunil Trakru (a mutual friend of the couple), Singh said in the statement.

Trakru allegedly helped Sunanda in her tweets and helped copy certain messages, which further led to a heated argument between the couple.

Singh in his statement mentioned that the couple had a similar argument on the morning of January 17, the day Sunanda was found dead.

In the last few days before her death, the couple allegedly had many arguments over some woman named Katty.

Sources in the department claimed that the Delhi police was now gearing up to question 13 key characters in the case, including the personal help, officers on special duty and relatives.

The list includes Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, his personal assistant, Sanjay Dewan — the couple’s family friend who found Pushkar dead at 5.30 pm when he came to enquire about her health, Tharoor’s officer on special duty (OSD) Shiv Kumar, driver Bajrangi, Sunil Trakru among others.

However, talking to TV channels for the first time, Trakru said: “I am sure Sunanda had many friends by the name ‘Sunil’ but I agree that I met her on January 15. However, I did not find anything unusual about her. I have already recorded my statement with the police in December last year and I stick to my statement.”

In a tweet dated December 27, 2013, Sunil is seen defending Pushkar on Twitter. Tagging Pak journalist Mehr Tarar, with whom Pushkar had a twitter war days before her death, he allegedly tweeted — ‘Pushkar a beautiful, classy, generous and true friend.’
