A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly snatching a teenager’s cell phone in the Capital, police have said.

Amar Nath, who had lost his job because he drank too much and began committing petty thefts, was arrested on Sunday from Rani Bagh area in north-west district.

Police arrested Nath after the boy, Anil, chased him and shouted for help.

“During sustained interrogation, Nath disclosed that he used to work as a plumber but for the past few months he had been jobless. He said he was an alcoholic, so he started committing thefts to sustain his drinking habit,” a police official said.

Two snatchers were arrested from Mukherjee Nagar in north Delhi for snatching the wallet of a man who had withdrawn money from an ATM.
