The Delhi Police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a man, whose body was found packed in a bag at Tank Road in Karol Bagh area of central Delhi on May 14.
The police said on the basis of two tattoos — one with the name ‘Lakhan Singh Sharma’ on the man’s right arm and a ‘heart with an arrow’ on the right side of his chest — the deceased was identified as Lakhan Singh Sharma, 30.
“On a tip-off, three persons — Sanjay Yadav, Ram Gopal Rai and Seema — were arrested. The victim was a relative of Seema. Earlier, both were residing in the same locality, where they developed an illicit relationship,” Devesh Chandra Srivastava, additional CP (central), said.
Later, when Sharma’s wife objected to it, they shifted to Bapa Nagar. Few months later, Seema also shifted to the same locality. “In Bapa Nagar, Seema developed a relationship with another accused, Ram Gopal Rai. When Sharma objected to it, they decided to eliminate him,” Srivastava added.
Seema shifted her base to Nangloi when Sharma was not in town. He returned on May 11 from his native place and went in search of her. He reached the factory where Rai was working.
In the evening, Sharma, Seema, Rai and his friend Yadav went to a liquor shop to drink. Later, all the three accused went to Rai’s house for dinner where at night, when Sharma was sleeping, Rai and Yadav killed him with a wooden bread roller and packed his body in a jute bag. The jute bag was then later stuffed in a big plastic bag. The next day, they dumped the body, the police said.
