Delhi Police on Sunday issued an advisory for Holi, announcing elaborate traffic arrangements to check incidents of drunken driving, speeding, dangerous driving, triple riding, minor driving, driving or riding without helmet and other traffic offences.

“Special checking teams with alcometers and speed interceptors will be deployed at major intersections to detect and prosecute violations,” said Anil Shukla, additional commissioner of police (Traffic).

To ensure a safe Holi on campus, the Delhi University has also taken several measures, including deployment of mobile patrol squads, provision of helpline numbers and formation of teacher-student committees to check hooliganism.

Metro services will be curtailed on Holi. Services will start only after 2pm. Even DTC buses will remain off roads on Wednesday till 2pm.
