Highlight Story

A Hindustan Times campaign to highlight the deplorable state of several roads in the Capital elicited strong responses from readers across the city.

I congratulate you on the excellent articles. I'm glad to see that you are taking the initiative of highlighting the condition of roads. In Yamuna Vihar, roads have been dug up for extension of the Metro network. While residents here were elated that the Metro was coming to our part of the city, the construction has meant much inconvenience.
Piyush Goel, Yamuna Vihar

I wish to draw your attention to the poor state of the stretch between Dilli Haat, Pitampura, and Netaji Subhash Place Metro Station. Also, open and dirty drains in GP Block, Pitampura, next to Sachdeva Public School, are an eyesore. All our requests for action have fallen on deaf ears. N Goel, Pitampura

The roads in the area of Jhandewalan Extension from Cycle Market to the Jhandewalan Metro Station are in poor condition. The municipal authorities seem unconcerned. Nitin Gupta

Congratulations to your reporters for their articles. In GK I, the lanes behind several homes, including that of the Munjals of the Hero MotoCorp, are filthy and unusable. The lane behind another set of homes has a tree precariously inclined.
MK Gupta, GK I

The roads in Loha Mandi, Naraina, are in pathetic condition. Overflowing sewers are common here.
