Several areas in Delhi faced power cuts on Wednesday, with power distribution companies carrying out load-shedding on a rotational basis to avoid grid failure.

According to power department officials, the Agra-Bamnoli line was overloaded and power department was asked by the National Regional Load Dispatch Centre (NRLDC) to reduce the load.

"The line due to which northern grid had collapsed on Monday was overloaded and we were asked by NRLDC to carry out load-shedding to reduce the load from that line," said a senior power department official.
Power department officials said that they might have to carry out load-shedding on Thursday too, to maintain grid discipline.
