A Delhi blasts accused has moved a city court demanding that footage telecast by various news channels soon after the September 13 serial blasts last year should be preserved as it could prove as crucial evidence.
Filing an application in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja, M.S. Khan, counsel for Zia-Ur-Rehman, stated that the footage of TV channels could play as very crucial evidence.
The application will come up for hearing on October 15.
The records sought to be preserved include video clippings, statements of witnesses and other material telecast between Sep 13 and Sep 19, 2008. The Batla House gunbattle took place Sep 19, leading to the arrest of prime accused Mohd Saif and Zeeshan Ahmed, and others a day later.
Twelve people have been arrested by Delhi Police so far in the five cases registered in connection with the serial blasts that claimed 26 lives and left over 135 injured.
