President Pratibha Patil today congratulated the Indian cricket team for becoming the world's number one Test side after beating Sri Lanka by an innings and 24 runs in the third and final cricket Test in Mumbai.

"It is well deserved and reflects the depth of talent of our cricketers," Patil said in her compliments to the team members.
