Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday congratulated ace woman shuttler Saina Nehwal for winning the Indonesian Open Badminton Championship, describing her "extraordinary feat" as a "milestone for Indian sports".
"Saina's achievement is a tribute to her talent, determination and hard work. It will inspire the women of the country to aim for higher goals in their chosen fields," Singh said in a message to Saina.
Congratulating Sania, the first woman from the country to win a Super Series Badminton Tournament, the Prime Minister said "this is a milestone for Indian sports".
"I congratulate Saina on her extraordinary feat and wish her many more such successes in the future," he said.
