Probe against Kiran Bedi on, say police

Probe against former IPS officer Kiran Bedi for allegedly misappropriating funds meant for her NGOs and inflated air tickets is in progress and efforts are on to finalise the investigation at the earliest, the Delhi Police have told a city court.

In a status report, police said the investigation had revealed that Microsoft had provided Rs 48 lakh to Bedi’s NGO, India Vision Foundation (IVF), besides 62 laptops and two desktops to promote computer education.

It stated Vedanta Foundation had informed the police that IVF was assigned by it to impart computer education among police authorities and 70% of its expenses were to be borne by Vedanta as donation. The probe was carried by Delhi Police on an FIR lodged against Bedi the court’s directions last year.
