Nearly two months after Anna Hazare’s protest against corruption came to a close at the city’s Ramlila Ground, members of India Against Corruption (IAC) have come out in agitation against one of team Anna’s main honchos — Arvind Kejriwal.
The protesters alleged large-scale corruption and misappropriation of funds by Kejriwal’s organisation, Public Cause For Research Foundation (PCRF) under the pretext of collecting money for the anti-graft movement.
“There is no accountability for the funds that PCRF has collected in Annaji’s name. We asked for an audit of the money that was collected but received no response,” said Sanjeev Chhiber, who had assisted in the medical camp that had been set up at the Ramlila Ground during the protest.
However, this is not the only grouse of the protesters.
“We want dismissal of Prashant Bhushan from the core team for making anti-nationalistic statements. We also want a total revamp of team Anna along with complete transparency and auditing of the funds that have been collected,” added Chhiber.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal has claimed that he has been informed of threats against him and that his office may be attacked.
