The Delhi government is likely to convene a meeting with Union urban development minister Kamal Nath soon and request him to relax norms to allow the regularisation of 263 colonies, which missed the bus earlier.

Sources said chief minister Sheila Dikshit, urban development minister Arvinder Singh and chief secretary DM Spolia were likely to bring the issue up and take part in the meeting with in this regard.

Senior Delhi urban development department officials said construction work on many such colonies was almost complete.

These colonies, however, had failed to meet the criterion that required them to be at least 50% ready in 2007, that would have met the Central government's norm for unauthorised colonies that can be regularized.

The urban development department has also decided to ask the Central government's approval to let them start carrying out development works in these colonies.
