Strongly criticising UP Chief Minister Mayawati's decision to cancel land allotment for rail factory in Rae Bareli, Lok Janshakti Party on Tuesday dubbed it as "historical blunder" and "fraud with people."
"LJP workers will launch a door to door campaign in the state to expose the anti-development and anti-people policies of the Mayawti government during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections," Party president Ram Vilas Paswan said on Tuesday.
Accusing the state government of not being serious about the development of the state, the Union minister said, "Mayawati government is blocking all schemes from taking off in the industrially backward state simply to settle political scores."
The Union cabinet had in August 2007 decided to establish National Medicinal Education and Research Centres in Gujarat, Assam, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh.
The Centre proposed for Raibareli could not be opened there owing to anti-development policies of the UP government, while the same has been opened in all other states, he said.
"Officers from my ministries are continuouisly in touch with the state government for allotment of the required 100 acre land for the centre but no decision has been taken by the state government as yet," Paswan said.
"The decision of Mayawati government to cancel the land allotment for rail factory has ended the job hopes for 10 thousand people there and it is a political decision made at the cost of the state's development," Paswan added.
