Rains lashed the national capital on Thursday bringing respite for the citizens from the searing heat and high humidity existing for the past few days.
Denizens woke to an overcast sky on Thursday and soon it began pouring as people started for their offices.
The showers led to waterlogging in many areas affecting the movement of traffic in the city.
The vehicular movement was also affected as a number of vehicles developed technical problems, leading to their break down.
The minimum temperature for the day was recorded at 27 degree Celsius.
The rains were welcome relief for the denizens as it brought respite from humidity which touched a high of 90 per cent.
