Delhiites can expect some respite from the rising temperatures with rain and thundershowers predicted for Thursday. But the respite will be short as the temperatures are set to soar in the coming few days.
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was recorded as 35.2 degrees, four degrees above normal. The minimum was 16.6 degrees, normal for this time of the year. A thunderstorm was seen around 8pm on Wednesday as well.
The maximum temperatures are set to rise to 37 degrees in the coming few days.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 36 degrees Celsius and it is expected to rise to 37 degrees by Sunday.
The minimum temperatures will also see an upward trend in the coming days.
"Delhi temperature will keep rising in the coming days. It has already started getting quite hot as no rainfall has been witnessed for quite long," said an official from the Met department.
