51 year old Raj Bala, who suffered spine injuries during the police action against yoga guru Ramdev and his supporters at Ramlila Maidan, was again put on ventilator support on Friday after doctors found 'her own respiration to be inadequate'.

Doctors attending to the Gurgaon resident at the neurosurgery department ICU of G B Pant Hospital in New Delhi, said, "Her condition is still very critical and her vital parameters are being maintained with increased pharmacological support." "Weaning from ventilator was again attempted but her own respiration continues to be inadequate. Hence she continues to be on ventilatory support," a doctor with the hospital said.

Bala's blood pressure and heart rate fluctuated in the wee hours of Friday and were brought under control with the help of medicines, a doctor said. Doctors had carried out a life saving tracheotomy procedure on June 13 on Raj Bala.

Prior to it she had undergone surgery on June 5 for cervical spinal injuries. Doctors had done decompression and fixation using plate, screw and cage. Doctors also said that her neurological status remains unchanged and she is quadriplegic (paralysis caused by illness or injury to a human).
