The crisis in the Maharashtra Congress over the resignation of senior minister Narayan Rane appears to have been resolved with the former Sena man announcing after a meeting with party chief Sonia Gandhi that he would attend future cabinet meetings.
Rane, a detractor of Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, had raised a row a fortnight back over the Videocon land allotment issue and had later said that he has already sent his resignation to Gandhi.
After more than 30-minute meeting with Gandhi on Saturday, Rane said he was happy over the meeting and he has apprised her about the situation about party as well as government in Maharashtra. "I will act as per her guidance," he said.
Maharashtra Congress Campaign Committee chairman Gurdas Kamat, who acompanied Rane during the meeting with Gandhi, said the party was united.
