One of the most power-packed sporting events every year, the Madhavrao Scindia Golf Tournament is back on Sunday, March 3, in its 8th edition. This one-day tournament for around 112 prominent amateur players, will see participation from prominent personalities from the field of politics, business, bureaucracy and sports teeing off in support of the Madhavrao Scindia Foundation.

The tournament, which will take place at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon, is being played for the first time on the four-man team scramble, which ensures all teams return outstanding scores around par or better. Participants include industrialist Pankaj Munjal, banker Rana Kapoor, and Murali Kartik, Nikhil Chopra, Charu Sharma and Amrit Mathur from the cricketing fraternity.

Golfer Chikkarangappa, who holds two national junior and two national men’s titles to his credit, will also participate. “It’s an honour for me to be invited by the Foundation
to be part of their annual tournament. I look forward to meeting the many keen golfers and playing alongside them. With the Foundation’s support, I hope my career gets a major boost,” he says.

Talking about the tournament, Jyotiraditya Scindia, minister of state for power, says, “Cricket and golf were my father’s passions. We feel that getting together with friends and golfers once a year maintains the special bond that he shared with this sport.”

The funds raised through this annual charity event will go towards supporting social development projects.
