The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday demanded the release of a secret note of Srikrishna Committee report on Telangana -'the startling excerpts' of which were revealed in an order of the Andhra Pradesh high court.
"The Congress, the opposition parties and all stake holders are poring over the committee's 505-page report without the crucial chapter that guided the committee suggest three of its 6 recommendations on the statehood demand. We demand the home ministry to make the chapter public in the larger interest of the nation," Nirmala Sitharaman, spokesperson, BJP said adding that 'Congress lacks political will in resolving the crisis'.
had reported how a note forming part of the Chapter 8 - law and order and internal security dimensions - was kept out of public view, while the report was submitted in December to the union home ministry.
Meanwhile, reports said a Hyderabad court asked police to file an FIR against committee members - including Justice Srikrishna - 'for criminal conspiracy, inciting communal hatred.'
Speaking at a protest rally in New Delhi organised by the Telangana Journalists Forum, Congress, TRS and TDP demanded scrapping of the report and introduction of Telangana bill in Monsoon session.
