NEW DELHI: The 42-year-old son of a retired Delhi Police sub-inspector was hacked to death allegedly by four bike-borne assailants outside his house at Bankner village near Narela in outer Delhi on Sunday night.
Police said the assailants stabbed him several times in the abdominal area and finally slit his throat with a sharp weapon before fleeing the crime scene.
A case of murder was registered against unknown persons at the Narela police station. Investigators suspect that the man, identified as Vikas alias Bunty, was murdered either over a property dispute or personal enmity. Bunty’s father, Inder Singh, who died around three months ago, had retired from the Delhi Police as a sub-inspector.
A police officer said Bunty’s family members claim that he was at home when someone called out for him. Bunty went out and found four men waiting for him. A few minutes later, an argument broke out between them, which soon turned into a scuffle during which the assailants overpowered Bunty and stabbed him multiple times before slitting his throat.
