A retired Army Major allegedly committed suicide in South Delhi's RK Puram area by shooting himself in the head on Friday afternoon.

Sixty-nine year old KC Kapoor used to live in Block B, Som Vihar and was reportedly suffering from depression, a police officer said. His wife Ritu Kapoor and a domestic help were in the house when the incident took place, the officer said.

The deceased was in his room when he allegedly shot himself with his licensed revolver. His wife reportedly told the police that she rushed him to a nearby hospital where he died.

The police said they are investigating the case since no suicide note was found from the spot. "The full details are not clear yet, but the family told us he was suffering from depression. We are looking into the matter," said a police officer.

Kapoor used to run a private security agency along with his elder son Ravi Kapoor. His younger son, Rakesh Kapoor, is married and does not live with them, police said.
