A Delhi court on Tuesday sent three persons, including a former bodybuilding champion, arrested for allegedly killing a teenager after kidnapping him for ransom, to five days police custody.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Rao remanded prime accused Kunal Bhandari alias Rocky and his associates Rishab Chauhan and Gaurav to police custody till August nine.
The three accused were produced before the court after being in judicial custody since their arrest on July 29.
The police secured their custodial interrogation on the ground that they were yet to recover the money allegedly paid to them by the family members of deceased Ribu Chawla (17), a Class XI student, of KR Mangalam School in Vikaspuri.
The court issued production warrant against Sukhwinder for August six as he could not be produced from his judicial custody due to his ill-health.
The police had not earlier sought their custodial remand as they wanted to conduct their test identification parade.
The four accused, including two-time body building champion Rocky, were arrested two days after allegedly killing Ribhu after kidnapping him on the evening of July 27.
According to police, Rocky, a former ‘Mr Delhi' in 1997 and 1998, had allegedly plotted the kidnap and murder of the victim to earn quick money and to pay off his debts.
The police had already recovered Rs 8 lakh as well as the Wagon-R car, allegedly used in the offence, at the instance of the accused. They also claimed to have recovered a nylon rope allegedly used to strangulate the victim.
