Advocacy group People's Action has written to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) asking for a budget of Rs 1,000 per month for the resident ward committees (RWCs).

The civic agency had set up the RWCs so that resident welfare associations (RWAs) work in close association with local councillors.

Sanjay Kaul, founder People's Action and President of URJA, said the letter written on the 17th of January is a result of several RWAs appealing to the group on a requirement of funds to smoothly carry out regular work in the RWC.
