Although the schools are still formulating their admission policy, most of them have suggested they will adopt a mix of two systems to admit children to nursery for the next academic session. The Directorate of Education (DoE) of the Delhi government had, on Wednesday, given the schools the autonomy to choose either system.
“We will go with the point system, but if we have too many candidates for a certain cut-off, we will have to do draw of lots,” said principal Ameeta Wattal, Springdales School, Pusa Road.
"Though the management still has to take a final call on the various categories, but we expect that the ones created last year would be retained. Since we are a minority institution, points would be given to students from the Jain community,” said SL Jain, principal, Mahavir Jain Public School. But not all schools favour these special categories.
