The south Delhi Police have arrested a security guard in the Capital for allegedly killing a teenager and injuring his relative on consecutive days.

The police have arrested Arjun alias Bittoo, who allegedly shot dead Harish (19) yesterday and injured his relative Surender (21) by opening fire at him.

The two incidents happened on two consecutive nights.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal said, “The complainant, Surender, a resident of Aya Nagar said he was returning home on his motorcycle around 11 pm, after attending a wedding function. When he reached Balka Chowk, Bijender and Shyam, who were standing there, signaled him to stop. The accused Bittoo then took out a countrymade pistol and shot Surender on his right shoulder.”

“However, Surender managed to escape on his bike and reach his uncle’s home. Thereafter, his cousins Harender and Sanjay took him to hospital and informed the police.”

Police said that on Tuesday morning, Bittoo, along with his associates, barged into Harish’s house and fired at him. Harish was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where he died during treatment.

“While firing at Harish, Bittoo apparently yelled that your brother Surender was shot but somehow escaped but you will not,” added Dhaliwal.

The police said that during the course of investigation, the accused Arjun disclosed he had old enmity with the family of the deceased.
