In the wake of the Pune terror attack, security has been stepped up in the national capital by deploying Quick Reaction Teams and anti-riot vehicles.
A senior police official said a large number of policemen have been deployed in the city following the blast late last evening in Pune's popular German Bakery, in which nine persons were killed and 57 injured.
"There is nothing to panic. We are taking all precautionary measures," the official said.
The security apparatus at prominent places like airport, railway stations, metro stations and inter-state bus terminals have been strengthened, he said.
Besides the deployment of QRTs and anti-riot vehicles, adequate number of police personnel have been deployed at markets and shopping malls to ensure fool-proof security, the official said.
The blast yesterday was the first terror attack since the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and comes at a time when India and Pakistan were preparing to resume talks.
