As supporters flocked to Ramlila Ground much before Anna Hazare reached there, security agencies had put elaborate arrangements in place to avoid any untoward incident.

Police said around 7,000 people reached the place by afternoon and there was a moving crowd of around 5,000 people. The numbers are expected to grow with the weekend ahead.

Rain had also affected the gathering. "We were expecting people who had gathered outside Tihar Jail to come to Ramlila Ground. But only those from west Delhi reached Tihar and they didn't come to Ramlila ground," said a police officer.

Nearly 500 police personnel were deployed to look after the security arrangements at the ground. "We will review the security arrangements every day. Our commandos have been placed at elevated platform for aerial security," he said.
