A 40-year-old employee of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has filed a complaint with the police, alleging that she was molested by her senior in office.

The employee had brought the incident to the notice of her seniors a month ago. But she had to approach the police after they reportedly failed to take any action against the senior.
“We have filed an FIR. The accused senior has been identified but he didn’t come to office on Thursday. Now we have asked for his residential address. He will be arrested soon,” a senior police officer said.
An FIR has been registered at the Barakhamba police station.
In her complaint, the victim has alleged that she was harassed by her colleague with whom she had been working since past six years.
The incident took place on September 26, when she was returning from the washroom. The accused had stopped her there and molested her.
The woman is working at MTNL head office in Kidwai Bhawan at Janpath. “We cannot reveal his name as he can go absconding. He works with the accounts department of MTNL. We have asked the company to share the findings of its internal enquiry with us,” the officer further said.
A case under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code has been registered regarding the case. Further investigations in the case are on.
