A city court has remanded five alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists involved in the Delhi serial blasts to 14 days’ judicial custody.

Chief metropolitan magistrate Kaveri Baweja took cognisance of the chargesheet against Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saquib Nissar and Mohd Shakeel in the September 13 blasts and posted the matter for February 4. They had been brought from Ahmedabad.

The public prosecutor told the court a forensic report in connection with the Barakhamba Road blast was awaited while sanction for prosecuting the accused had been obtained.

The court also directed police to supply copies of the chargesheet to all the accused in cases registered in connection with the Karol Bagh, Greater Kailash-I and Barakhamba Road explosions.

A total of five FIRs were registered in the September 13 blasts, which claimed 26 lives and left scores injured. All five accused were sent to Gujarat on October 27 for probing their alleged role in the Ahmedabad serial blasts on July 26.

The court also issued production warrants for January 29 against the alleged IM co-founder Mohd Sadiq Sheikh and member Quamuddin Kapadia who are in Ahmedabad.

Another accused, Mohd Hakim, is presently in judicial custody. Mohd Saif, also sent to Rajasthan for his alleged role in the Jaipur serial blasts, was brought to the Capital earlier while the other four were brought on Tuesday from Gujarat.

The police have filed three chargesheet in connection with the serial blasts.
