The outer Delhi police on Saturday claimed to have busted a gang of burglars with the arrest of seven persons.
A country-made pistol along with one live cartridge and some stolen items worth Rs 3 lakh were recovered from them, police said. According to police, the gang used to target factories in outer Delhi areas at night and was involved in around 10 cases reported in the recent past. The arrested persons have been identified as Sazid, Saeed, Rajender, Ganga Ram, Sanjay Kumar, Rahul and Rajneesh. All the men are 27 years old and lived in Narela area, police said.
BS Jaiswal, deputy commissioner of police (outer) said the arrest came following investigations made into complaints regarding burglaries at factories in outer Delhi.
"The gang had committed a burglary at the factory of one Rishab Goyal in Narela area. A case in this regard was registered. During the investigation, our team arrested Saeed and his interrogation led to the arrest of other members of the gang," said Jaiswal.
