Hauz Khas (South Delhi)

A major fire broke out at Prayag Restaurant in Hauz Khas village on Wednesday at 6:15pm after which 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. No one was injured in the incident. “The blaze was reported from a four-storeyed building after the Diwali puja at Prayag restaurant. Leakage in the LPG pipeline was the reason behind the fire,” a senior fire department officer said.

Subzi Mandi (North Delhi)
A fire was reported from a cotton godown near Amba Cinema in Subzi Mandi on Wednesday. There were, however, no injuries. “We had to send more than 25 fire tenders to douse the flames. The reason behind the fire could not be ascertained,” said a senior police officer. Initial investigation suggests, the fire could have broken out due to fire-crackers. A portion of the adjacent building also collapsed on Thursday due to the fire but no one was injured as the building had already been vacated.

Rohini (Outer Delhi)
In outer Delhi ’s Rohini, seven persons were injured when a major fire broke out in a three-storied building on Wednesday evening. It took five fire-fighters more than an hour to douse the fire. A few motorcycles parked below the building were also damaged. The injured were rushed to Ambedkar hospital. “More than 100 people live in the building. It became difficult for them to escape when the ground floor caught fire,” said a senior police officer.

Mayur Vihar (East Delhi)
Two fire incidents were reported from Mayur Vihar — one in a car while another took place in an AC godown. “Both were minor incidents and the fire was brought under control immediately,” a fire department officer said.
