Shopian: SC asks cops to move bail in court

Two Jammu and Kashmir police officers arrested in connection with the alleged rape and murder of two women in Shopian were today asked by the Supreme Court to move their bail applications before a Sessions court tomorrow.
Two Jammu and Kashmir police officers arrested in connection with the alleged rape and murder of two women in Shopian were on Friday asked by the Supreme Court to move their bail applications before a Sessions court on Saturday.
The apex court directed the Sessions court in Shopian to expeditiously consider the bail pleas and directed the investigating officer to be present there with the case diary on Monday.

The Jammu and Kashmir government assured a Bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan that adequate protection would be provided to the police officers.
