The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested six persons, including a serving colonel of the Indian army, two employees of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and four others, for allegedly obtaining bribe from prospective candidates during a recent recruitment drive.

The agency arrested Colonel Kulbir Singh, NDA staff officer Lt Gen Jatinder Singh, NDA employee Ramesh Gaikwad, food stall vendor Balkishan Kanojia, his employee Vishnu Sharma, and two others. All the six accused were remanded to CBI custody till July 2. They are accused of scam for lower level appointments such as gardeners, cooks, clerks, cadet orderlies and lab and library attendants.
