Six-year-old raped by neighbour in west Delhi’s Najafgarh
A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by his neighbour at a forest near west Delhi’s Najafgarh last week.
A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by his neighbour at a forest near west Delhi’s Najafgarh last week.
The police arrested a 35-year-old labourer based on details provided by the girl.
The incident took place on October 7 evening when Ashok Kumar allegedly lured the girl with toffees when she was playing outside her home.
He took her to a secluded spot in the forests where he allegedly raped her.
When the girl became unconscious, Ashok left her in the bushes and escaped, said a police officer.
She regained consciousness the next day and was spotted by some paramilitary jawans who were jogging near the forest. She was taken to hospital and is now out of danger.
The arrested man worked at a construction site in Baba Haridas Nagar where the girl lives with her family.
Ashok, a native of Etah in Uttar Pradesh, is allegedly a drug addict. He was arrested from his village.
He was produced before a city court which sent him to jail.
A case under appropriate sections of IPC and POCSO Act was registered in connection with the crime.
